The Reykjavik City Card is available in three durations: 24, 48 or 72 hours. Every option includes the same package - only the validity period differs. The duration starts with your first use of the card.
| Duration | Price |
|---|---|
| 24 hours | 35 € |
| 48 hours | 48 € |
| 72 hours | 58 € |
As of 24 June 2026, prices from the official booking partner. There is no separate child rate through the booking partner. The price shown in the booking window is always the binding one.
What is included in the price
Regardless of the duration you choose, the card covers:
- Single free entry to 17 museums and galleries, including the National Museum of Iceland, the Reykjavik Art Museum and the Settlement Exhibition.
- Free entry to the city's geothermal pools, including Laugardalslaug.
- Unlimited rides on Strætó city buses plus a return ferry trip to Videy Island. More details on the public transport page. The airport bus line 55 is not included.
- Discounts on tours, restaurants and shops.
Which duration suits you?
Even two or three museum visits plus a thermal bath and a few bus rides quickly add up to more than the card price. For a packed single day the 24-hour card at 35 € is the right choice. If you are staying longer, the daily rate drops noticeably: the 48-hour card (48 €) works out at just 24 € per day, while the 72-hour card (58 €) comes to roughly 19 € per day. Since the duration only starts with first use, you can flexibly time the start for your main sightseeing day.
Anyone combining several attractions and using public transport will recoup the cost quickly. How much you save depends on your itinerary - check the individual prices for the attractions you actually plan to visit.
Questions about pricing
What does the Reykjavik City Card cost?+
All prices are listed in the price table above: 24, 48 and 72 hours. Every option includes the same package - only the duration differs. The price shown in the booking window is always the binding one.
Which duration is worth it?+
The longer the card is valid, the lower the daily rate - the exact amounts for each duration are in the table above. A short city break is usually well served by the 48-hour option; for a longer stay the 72-hour card makes more sense. The attractions page shows which sights are included.
Is there a child price?+
No, the booking partner does not offer a separate child rate - every option is priced per person. Children and teenagers under 18 often get free admission at many of the included museums anyway.
