Reykjavik Card

About us

reykjavik-card.com is an independent information and booking site for the Reykjavík City Card. The Reykjavík City Card is the official city pass of Reykjavík. It's issued by Visit Reykjavík, the city's official tourism organisation. The card combines free entry to 17 museums and the city's geothermal pools with unlimited travel on city buses and the ferry to Viðey, and is available for 24, 48 or 72 hours.

The thing you buy online is not the thing you use. Payment gets you a voucher; the pass itself is a physical card that you collect on arrival, at the Reykjavík Art Museum, one of the city museums or another of the pickup points. The clock starts there and not at checkout: you write the start date and time on the back of the card, and from that moment the 24, 48 or 72 hours run without a break. That turns the choice in Reykjavík into a practical one, because the pickup desks keep museum hours while the hours you bought keep running through the evening and the night. We set out what the card opens, where you collect it, and how to lay those hours across the days you are in town.

What this site is not

reykjavik-card.com is an independent guide. We are not the official website of Visit Reykjavík; the issuer's own card page is at visitreykjavik.is. We're not a hotel booking site or a general Iceland portal - hotel bookings, general Iceland travel information and tours unrelated to the card, such as the Golden Circle, are deliberately outside our scope. We don't sell the card ourselves: bookings go through our partner Tiqets, where their current prices, availability and terms apply.
