Free access to all 8 geothermal swimming pools.
Unlimited rides on the city buses in Reykjavík.
Free return trip to the island of Viðey.
Discounts in museums, stores and on tours.
Optionally valid for 24, 48 or 72 hours.
The Reykjavík City Card offers you free admission to numerous museums and galleries as well as all municipal swimming pools in Reykjavík. You can also enjoy unlimited travel on the city buses in the greater Reykjavík area (Strætó).
In addition, you get a free ferry crossing to Viðey Island and various discounts on tours, shopping and services. Important note: The airport line 55 is not included in the pass.
The validity period begins with the first use or collection of the card. From this point on, your pass is valid for 24, 48 or 72 consecutive hours, depending on the option you choose.
You can also have a later start time noted when you collect your pass if you do not want to use it immediately.
With the City Pass, you can visit as many different included attractions as you like within the period of validity.
However, only one free entry per attraction is usually possible. Repeated visits to the same attraction are not normally permitted.
The pass is valid for all city bus lines (Strætó) in Reykjavík and the surrounding municipalities. You can use the city buses free of charge for the duration of the pass.
Exception: The airport bus (line 55 to Keflavík Airport) is not included in the City Pass and must be paid for separately.
No, the City Card does not grant priority admission (Fast Track). Although the card allows free or reduced admission to many attractions, it does not include a special right to skip the queues.
As a City Card holder, you queue as normal, just like all other visitors.
Children and young people under the age of 18 in Reykjavík receive free admission to the city's museums anyway. Depending on age, however, small fees may apply for buses, thermal baths or the family zoo.
Seniors aged 67 and over receive a 50% discount on admission to some institutions (e.g. National Museum, House of Collections, National Gallery).
After purchasing online, you will receive a voucher by e-mail, which you can print out and exchange for a physical City Card in Reykjavík.
Issuing points include:
This depends on where you purchased:
At Tiqets: Cancellation or change of date is possible until 11:59 pm the day before the scheduled start of use at the latest.
At Visit Reykjavík: A subsequent refund is generally not possible, except in special cases (e.g. price errors).
Important note: If the City Card is lost, there is no entitlement to a replacement. The card must be treated like cash.
If it is lost, you will have to buy a new City Card if necessary, as a lost City Pass will neither be replaced nor refunded. Therefore, keep your pass safe!
Each City Card is intended for one person and should not be passed on to third parties. Although the card is not registered by name, each pass can only be used by one person at a time.
It is not possible for several people to use a card at the same time.
